Verizon coverage in El Dorado County will be improved for three communities thanks to new antennas, according to that company.

Verizon said in a press release Friday that it has new 4G LTE cell antennas providing coverage in El Dorado Hills, Greenwood and Pilot Hill.

Here’s how Verizon describes the areas included in the reach of the new antennas:

  • “El Dorado Hills: At Oak Meadow Elementary School, south to Suncoast Lane, along Highway 50, and west of El Dorado Boulevard”
  • “Greenwood: Along Highway 193, Dam Creek Road, Wild Lilac Lane and Coon Creek Road”
  • “Pilot Hill: Along Highway 49  around Majestic View Road, Greenwood Creek, Black Rock Lake and Pilot Peak Road”

“The network upgrade is part of the company’s ongoing investment to keep improving and strengthening the nation’s largest and most reliable wireless network,” Verizon said in a press release.

The wireless company has spent $7.8 improving its California network since being founded in 2000, the press release states.

Verizon finalized its purchase of Mountain Cellular–and its 21 cell antennas–in El Dorado County earlier in December.
